Traditional VS Contemporary Stained Glass, which one do you choose?

Stained glass has been around for centuries. The traditional styles of stained glass and their timeless beauty can be seen all around, from the ancient cathedrals of Europe to small, unexpected windows in older, inner city homes. Traditional church stained glass frequently told a story, illustrated a scene from the bible, or portrayed a religious icon. This is what most people think of when they think of traditional stained glass.

Contemporary styles of stained glass with their modern designs are equally as beautiful. These days, even churches choose modern designs, and contemporary stained glass can be seen everywhere from the homes built by Frank Lloyd Wright to modern municipal buildings that commission stained glass artists to make major pieces.

So if you were going to commission a stained glass window or door for your home or office, which would you choose when it comes to a choice between traditional vs. contemporary?

By choosing custom stained glass you can bridge the gap between the two styles. You can use elements of each, or incorporate traditional design in a modern window or door. If you love the antique, timeless look of Celtic design or the traditional stained glass rose designed by Scottish master Charles Rennie Mackintosh, (known as the Glasgow Rose), but also like modern geometrics, there is simply no conflict!
