Why custom stained glass? Let’s look first at the history of this medium. Stained glass art is a form that has been around for centuries, with good reason. It is beautiful, and requires amazing craftsmanship to build. It might seem like a fragile thing, being made almost wholly of glass, but stained glass windows have been found intact, dating back hundreds of years. And it can be restored as well, in the same way that a valuable painting from a master artist can be restored.

Most people know stained glass mainly from churches and cathedrals. Of course, when the amazing stained glass windows of old were built, they only contained custom stained glass. But stained glass has almost as long a history as an adornment in peoples’ homes, worldwide, and that can be custom made as well.

It is also popular in bars and restaurants, municipal buildings, and classy businesses of all kinds.

One of the reasons for this art form’s enduring popularity is that it can be easily customized for any window, any décor, any style of architecture, and any building, commercial or residential.

And that is exactly what we do at Custom Stained Glass.
You know your style. You know your tastes. You know the colors you love and the designers you favor. You are the one who has the vision of how your home could look with custom stained glass in your kitchen cabinets, in your bay window, in your entryway, in the transoms that run around the top of your living room.

Here’s where we come in. Our designers will assist you in choosing the best stained glass patterns for whichever windows you want them, out of hundreds of choices available. But we can go even more “custom” than that, because if you have a new idea, or you’ve seen stained glass somewhere that you like and took a photo, our designers can help that idea become a reality. You dream it, we build it. How’s that for custom stained glass?

Each and every piece of stained glass we do is custom, to meet your exact measurements and suit your tastes. Deco? Geometric? Celtic? Abstract? Aspens or flowers? If you like it, we will design and build it. To order.

It’s not only our designs that are custom. Each of our windows or other stained glass patterns is hand crafted. Yes, that’s a phrase that is thrown around all over the place, so let us tell you what it means.
One of our specially trained craftsmen will cut each piece of glass for your window – by hand.

He or she will attach each piece together, cutting the lead strips that fit between the glass – by hand.

Your piece will have the joints of the lead strips soldered. You guessed it – by hand.

And when it’s finished, it will be polished, packed, and installed in your home. Of course, by hand.

How’s that for hand crafted? We’d love to tell you more about our custom stained glass. Why not call us today to arrange an in home consultation with one of our designers?
